Robotics Champions Again!!

Our pupils from sixth class out performed all other schools to become Analog Robotics Champions for 2024.

Following an intense competition, Theo Costello, Jan Makowiecki, Dillon Hinchy and Farooq Muniru emerged as the overall winners

Following a one day workshop run by LearnIT , the boys were selected to go forward and represent their school. Supported by their teacher Ms Aoife Ní Cheallaigh, they worked hard at building their communication and team work skills by working on Lego projects using our LEGO Spike equipment which had been purchased with the aid of sponsorship and Board of Management support three years ago. Though the type of coding and building equipment was different from that used during the competition the boys were able to put their skills to good use. A new feature of the competition this year required competitors to create a display board on the impact of IT on our lives and communicate their thoughts to the judges. Many thanks to the people in Analog, Raheen, who give everyone a great day out.

Congratulation boys , we are very proud of ye.

Primary School Athletics U.L. and visit by Olympian, Thomas Barr.

Congratulations to our wonderful Team of Athletes who competed in the Limerick Primary Schools Athletics Championship which took place in U.L. on May 16th. A total of 24 boys travelled with their coach, Mr. Shannagher. This is a combined team event with the performance of each child contributing to the overall result.

There was great celebrating when the boys returned carry a very large cup. Well done to all involved, we are very proud of your achievements and a special thanks to all who supported the boys at the event on the day.

Our success was made even more special when we were honored with a visit to our school by Thomas Barr . Tom had heard of our success from Ms Gallagher and came along to speak to all the boys from 3rd to 6th. It was an amazing experience for the children to meet a real Olympian! Thank you Tom for your inspirational chat to the boys and best of luck in your future races. And thanks Ms Gallagher for arranging this opportunity for us.
